Alpine Estate
This grand and architecturally impeccable sits perched atop several acres in a bucolic suburb of Manhattan. The limestone façade and slate roof called for a grand interior. The clients became connoisseurs of fine French furniture very quickly with important pieces by Leleu, Dominique, Batisté and Spade, de Coene Freres and Jansen. Easy neutrals highlight the architectural details and allow the furniture and art to be center stage.
Park Avenue
Central Park West
A full renovation to reproduce an elegant detailed apartment was needed for a client moving from a spacious Connecticut home and into the more crowded Upper West Side of Manhattan. Like most empty nesters, a change of scenery was desired. So moving from the spacious homes of Connecticut and into Manhattan in the Central Park West area sufficed this desire for the owners of this newly renovated space. A full renovation proceeded to reproduce an elegant detailed apartment with paired down upholstery and drapery in rich brick, brown and silvers. A daring library in deep avocado lacquer is tamed by comfortable upholstery, a custom rug from Beauvais and a classic paisley velvet.
Saddle River
The Hackensack Hospital hosted its annual designer Showhouse in a less than stylish early 1970’s home. Given the task to create a comfortable and heavily layered great room was a challenge. To begin an important rug from Beauvais set the tone for the custom upholstery covered in Lee Jofa fabrics and dramatic drapery stretching twenty feet revealing a dramatic and rich paisley, also from Lee Jofa. A mix of mid century furniture from Label Modern sits harmoniously with a Biedermeier console and desk from Karl Kemp Antiques.
Upper East Side Penthouse
A rental building in Manhattan’s Upper East Side was transformed using important French items from New York and Paris’ best dealers. Furniture and lighting pieces by Adnet and Ruhlmann are mixed with a neutral palette. Custom upholstery is layered with carpets from Stark. Custom cabinetry in the mast bedroom is punched with a bold splash of red leather and luxurious oxblood drapery.
Miami Penthouse
An idyllic penthouse perched high above the ocean in South beach, the project required the combination of two units and carving out five bedrooms for a large New York family. The clients requested bright and airy but sophisticated. A large collection of contemporary art sits atop white venetian stucco walls and reverberates with large scale white Thasos floors. The plaster floor lamps are from the Fountainebelu hotel and the Round coffee table is Laverne from Lobel Modern. The dining table is custom Linen Lacquer on brushed nickel bases.
