Full Biography
Jack
Levy, principal of the design firm bearing his name has been nationally
recognized for his residential and corporate design projects.
Jack believes in breaking the rules of traditional design;
silk velvet on ultra modern pieces or as a contrast burlap on signed
Louis XVI pieces. He is inspired by the tranquility of nature, specifically
stones and water and adds exuberant color taken from elements of nature
and his travels. Jack's style is most often noted as
luxuriously simple.
In his work Jack strives to create living spaces with a level of drama
that does not sacrifice livability. Classic, sophisticated and crisp are
words to describe his design style, that mixes many periods and feelings
to create uniquely original enviroments.
Jack's background in fashion, product development, finance and event consulting
enables him to create a multi-faceted approach to design that has brought
him recognition in oublications such as House & Garden, Traditional
Home, Veranda, Interior Design and American Way Magazine. Jack has volunteered
his time and expertise for events such as kips Bay Show House, Elle Decor's
DIFFA and most recently Traditional Homes/Evelyn Lauder's Breast Cancer
Foundation Show House, "Built for Women". His involvement in
Kips Bay resulted in his work being featured in the Stark Carpet Corporations
national ads.
The Jack Levy Design Furniture Collection, to debut this year, is
a collection inspired by the waves of ocean and his travels to the
Far East. the collection combines dark walnut, pale rift oak, anigre
and sycamore in a classic clean style that offers the possibility
of mixing pieces with a range of different interiors. Upholstered
